Grrrrrr

  • May. 4th, 2010 at 3:42 PM

Y'know I've never liked the idea of killing anything-- until now.

My printmaking was being done in the garage/studio. Apparently a mouse got in and completely trashed the place. I knew something had gotten into the birdseed, but had no idea the kind of total destruction these little bastards can cause.

It pooped and peed on all the plates I had out there on the drying rack, and also left all kinds of excrement on all the prints of "The Asshatter". It totaled three pads of various art paper and one sketch pad that contained irreplaceable sketches. Hubby scanned 2 and disinfected his scanner.

Glue traps are set after we spent the better part of Saturday trying to either suck the mouse into the vacuum, or stomp it.

Die rodent, DIE!!!!

"The Asshatter" is all his goofy glory. I'm still trying to get time to do some more prints of this one. I actually completed the first round in November.

A photo of the plate in progress. I love this new printmaking medium. It rocks!!

The latest

  • Nov. 9th, 2009 at 10:27 PM

I just finished one print cycle of my newest plate. It's a composition called "The Asshatter". As soon as I can get the watermark to work, it'll be up. The series is based on "Alice in Wonderland- Through the Looking Glass". If I can get some time to do the plate, the next one is "All Ways are the Queen's Ways".

I'm very excited about this series. I think you'll like it!

Boycott thieves

  • Oct. 27th, 2009 at 7:02 PM

People use myspace, fine. But don't steal artists work to make wallpaper for your page.

Boycott coolchaser.com and all websites like them. All they do is steal. It's wrong. Don't support anyone who makes money by taking someone else's work.

I shouldn't have to spend all my time protecting my work from losers. I should be using my time to produce the prints. Protect all artists and boycott thieving. Be creative and make your own. Don't use work without permission.

It's a neat thing called having a conscience and integrity.
Thanks guys!

Copyrights and why you shouldn't steal

  • Oct. 21st, 2009 at 12:58 PM

Just a friendly reminder, especially to the people who keep snatching my stuff and using it as wallpaper on myspace- if you want to use someone else's work, you have to ask. Otherwise you're stealing copyrighted material, you're taking someone's art without permission. I mean, do you not understand that aside from being really bad Karma, that it makes you total jerk if you do it?

Ask permission, and get it the correct way. Sheesh. I can't believe I have to say this stuff.

The reason for this tidbit today isn't just because of people stealing from me, it's artists all over the place who are getting totally screwed over, and ripped off. Common sense would tell you that it's wrong to steal, it's a known fact that stealing is wrong. So, how about just not doing it?
